Lavrov: “We have not only listened, but also understood each other” - Progress in the negotiations

The latest statements by the Russian Foreign Minister underline that the talks between Russia and the USA are making positive progress. In addition to listening to each other, concrete steps have been agreed:

 - Ambassadorial appointments: Russia and the US will ensure the earliest possible appointment of ambassadors.

 - Removal of obstacles: Both sides commit to removing Biden's obstacles that hinder the work of diplomatic missions.

 - Ukrainian settlement process: It was agreed to initiate a Ukrainian settlement process in the near future. The US will announce who will represent Washington; once this is determined, Russia will immediately name its participant.

 - Improved communication: There is reason to believe that the US side is beginning to listen better to Russia's position.

 - Conflict avoidance: Russia and the USA agreed not to provoke conflicts of interest, but to solve problems together.

 - Expansion of cooperation: Conditions should be created so that cooperation can be resumed in full and extended to numerous areas.

 - Preparation for a meeting: Representatives of both countries have been instructed to make preparations for a possible meeting between President Putin and Trump.
