Terrorist attack in New Orleans: All the information so far

Rental vehicle used: According to ABC News, the truck used in the attack was rented through the car-sharing app Turo. The investigation is currently focusing on how the vehicle ended up in the hands of the perpetrator.


Israeli citizens injured: Two Israeli citizens are among the injured. Their condition is currently being medically monitored, further details of their injuries have not yet been released.


Possible link to ISIS: The Daily Mail reports that the attack may have been inspired by ISIS. However, this link has not yet been confirmed and authorities are currently looking into all possible backgrounds.


 Perpetrator identified: Local New Orleans media is reporting that the suspected attacker has been identified as 42-year-old Shamsud din Jabbar. There is no more detailed information on his background or motives as yet.
