Zoran Milanović, the incumbent president of Croatia, won the second-round presidential election by a landslide. With 98% of the ballots counted, he was three times ahead of his opponent Dragan Primorac in the second round of the presidential election.

The Spanish government plans to introduce a tax of up to 100% on the value of properties purchased by non-EU citizens, including buyers from the UK. Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez said the measure was necessary to tackle the country's housing shortage and ensure access to affordable housing for residents. He criticized foreign investors who use real estate as speculative objects, which exacerbates the crisis. Other planned measures include tax breaks for landlords of affordable housing and stricter regulations for holiday rentals.
