The latest surveys show that citizens' dissatisfaction with the federal government is growing strongly. Most see early elections as necessary. Robert Habeck's popularity has fallen by up to 8%. Most Germans want new elections as soon as possible and an end to the traffic light coalition. Even supporters of the SPD and Greens are now turning away. Only 41% of respondents still believe that the current coalition should remain in power until the next election in September 2025.
The three most popular politicians are Boris Pistorius (55% approval), Friedrich Merz (30%) and BSW leader Sahra Wagenknecht with 24%. Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz received 19% approval, as did Finance Minister Christian Lindner and AfD leader Alice Weidel.
