A group of Republican senators asked US Secretary of State Blinken to pressure Qatar:

The letter calls on Secretary of State Blinken and Attorney General Garland to force Hamas to surrender after the Israeli military strike killed Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar. It calls for the U.S. to take action against the remaining Hamas leadership to defeat the organization. The letter recommends three steps: First, the Biden administration should call on Qatar to end its support for Hamas. Second, to demand the extradition of Hamas leader Khaled Meshal, who lives in Qatar, to the US. Thirdly, to pursue the prosecution of other Hamas officials such as Khalil Al-Hayya and secure their extradition. The aim is to hold Hamas accountable for the acts of October 7, 2023.
